Have you ever been half way through grilling the most perfect steaks only to find you do not have enough barbecue sauce? Well, the following recipe will solve your problem.
This basic, ever day, BBQ sauce can be made in a matter of minutes with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen...except perhaps the canned chili sauce...which you can substitute with chili powder if necessary.
This simple barbecue sauce requires no cooking, is quick and easy to make and goes well with most any grilled meat, chicken or fish.
EASY BARBECUE SAUCE
Yield: 1 + cup
o 1 onion, chopped fine
o 1/2 cup canned chili sauce (you can substitute 1 tbsp chili powder mixed in 1/2 cup water)
o 1/2 cup ketchup
o 1/2 tablespoon sugar
o 2 tablespoons cider vinegar
o 2 tablespoons soy sauce
o 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
o 1 tablespoon prepared (regular) mustard
1. Mix all ingredients together well.
2. Pour mix into a blender and process until smooth. You can skip this step if you prefer small chunks of onion in the sauce.
3. Brush on chicken, beef or pork before or after grilling (or both).
4. Store any left over in the refrigerator in a sealed container.
