So, what is Soul Food? There may not be a specific definition that would satisfy all, but in general it refers to a cusine made popular by Africian Americans of the Southern United States. It is characterized by use of easily grown, inexpensive vegetables and nearly all parts of pork, chicken, fish and beef products.

The term "Soul food" originated in the mid-60's employing a term often used to describe African-American culture but the origins of the cusine really came from Africa much earlier.
