Cheesy Biscuits

Cheesy Biscuits Recipe
These cheesy biscuits may be refrigerated and cooked when needed. Some say they are better this way. You may make normal size biscuits to accompany a meal or bite sized for snacks or appetizers. Add 3 or 4 cloves of minced garlic to the dough and you have a garlic biscuit similar to those made famous by Red Lobster restaurants.

The number of biscuits this recipe makes will vary according to the size biscuits you make.

CHEESY BISCUITS

Prep Time: 2 hours 10 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Total time: 2 hours 20 mins
Yield: 18 servings

Ingredients:

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh baking powder
- 1 cup butter or margarine - room temperature
- 2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz.)
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions:

1. Combine flour, dry mustard, paprika and baking powder in a medium bowl. Set aside.
2. Beat butter or margarine in a large bowl until fluffy.
3. Slowly beat in cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Gradually add flour mixture (from step 1) and mix well.
4. On a lightly floured surface, shape dough into a long roll about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
5. Wrap in plastic wrap or foil. Place on a platter and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
6. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
7. Cut dough into slices about 2/3 inch thick. Flatten each ball to about 2 inches in diameter.
8. Bake 10 minutes or until slightly browned.

NOTE: If dough is too dry add milk a little at a time until the dough is workable. Do not add too much. It should only take a spoonful or so. You are looking for a dough that is neither crumbly nor soupy. Just a sticky dough that holds it's shape.
